Just got back from my vacation yesterday, was in New Orleans for the march break. The utter lack of internet in my area was definitely compensated by the fact that that town IS SOOOOOO FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!!!! Seriously, when I get all the pics back I'll post them but for now you all get a really long post in the meantime!!!
Okay, the place itself, we all stayed in the French Quarter, about a block north of Bourbon Street, that's right, Bourbon street. And believe me the place lives up to it's name. It's legal to drink out on the streets there so there's ALWAYS someone around with a beer or something in hand, lots of fun, got plastered three nights in a row!! Woot! Go massive dehydration and liquidization of all funds to afford booze!! We were there for St. patties day, so there was this HUGE parade, klasted from about 4 in the afternoon till about four in the morning!! SOOOO much fun, I got SO many bloody beads from that parade, it was great!! I never want to see green beer again though........
The town itself was absolutely GORGEOUS!!! Half of the town is really old (especially where I stayed) so there was alot of 200 year old houses that were soooooo pretty!! Loved it! Took so many damn pictures, my mom's gonna kill me when I bring home the bill from the developing of them all!! It was really great weather too, I went around in t-shirts and tank tops the whole time, we had a pool at the place we were staying so we got to go swimming every day too!! God I hate Canadian winters, I really wanna go for a swim right now......
We went to all the touristy things to do in the city, the aquarium, the zoo, a mississippi cruise, and a tour of the graveyards. They were really cool, they have crypts for all the dead cause it's kinda hard to bury people in the bayou, they were really pretty, like mini temples! And one of the crypts for a Voodoo priestess is still worshiped!! There are offerings there every day! Voodoo is a big thing down there, I've never seen so many voodoo dolls in my life!
The shopping was absolutely AMAZING, I love the shops down there, I got some GREAT shirts and a full length formal dress that I absolutely love!! Soooo much fun! There was one shop that was selling buttons and things, 3 for a dollar! I had to get them!! I bought about 20 for myself........ and a few for other people too, my fav one is: "Face it girl, Prince Charming isn't coming, he's living with Mr. Right." Soooooo funny!!! Another great one was "A dirty mind is a terrible thing to waste...." I love that shop!! I also got alot of funky jewelry there, most of the markets have some really cool handmade stuff. I saw the perfect T-shirt for KT, it said simply, "Fuck you, you Fucking Fuck." Aparently it was one of the more popular ones cause I saw it everywhere!! couldn't afford it though as I spent all my money really early on.....
Anyway, hmmmmm, what else........oh yeah!! It's my birthday on monday!! I'm gonna be 18! Woot, go me!! Not having a party as my house is an utter disaster, but probably go out and do something for it. I got my present form my parents already, computer stuff, very cool! I got an issue of shonen Jump in Japanese and a stack of comics from my sister in law, (love ya Kat, thanks!!) and get this, from my grandmother I got a note yelling at me for not writing her for so long, she didn't even wish me happy birthday, stupid bitch, hate her sooo much, very depressed about that........
anyway, I suppose that's all for now, holy shit this is a long post! Damn I can ramble on.......
