Okay, got back from Anime North a few days ago, spent yesterday and today passed out cause I was so damn sick. Stupid lack of an immune system. Hate you.
Anyway, you want a rundown of the con you say? No? well I'm gonna do it anyway so just try to stop me. ::ducks to avoid the random things her sister threw at her when she read that line.::
Okay, friday, definitely one of the worst days I've had in a while. Show up at the hotel (short $800 so I had to pay it out of my pocket, currently still short $200) and they tell me that since I am paying in cash they need a cash deposit of $50. per room. per night. thats 400 bucks and believe it or not I don't have that kinda cash just laying around. Much hurried phoning ensued in which we eventually just begged a parent to be allowed to use a credit card and pay HER in cash instead. (Mrs Peck, I love you. seriously, you are my god!!)
so, we finally get the rooms and I get about half the people checked in, run around for about 4 hours trying to sort out who owes me how much money and who has already PAID said money. I didn't even get to the dealers room till about 7 cause I had to sit around waiting for little sis to show up so I could give her ticket. Mental breakdown shortly after, resulting in Vicki and the rest dragging me off to go swimming stating it would be "good for me" never mind the fact I had to swim in clothes cause my bag hadn't arrived yet.....
anyway, went out to dinner all three days, great food. Went to tuckers 2 of the times, amaing buffet, truly awe inspiring. And Mikado's. Deep fried ice cream. Nuff said.
Post breakdown friday was fun tho. Maniville, Manimole and Jenny were all lots of fun to meet, truly amusing people and surprisingly sane considering how long they've been puting up with KT.....
Saturday way great, J-pop/J-rock idol competition was.... interesting. Jo and assunta did really well, but some of the people there just could NOT sing and should not have even been trying. The dance was great, the outsifts some of our group came up with!! Nic and vicki looked amazing together, Nic, you should DEFINITELY wear mesh more. KT had her pants which amused her to no end, I went in my slit sleeve shirt and my fox tail. Yes fox tail, I bought it on sat. amuses me to no end!!
My little sis went to the masquerade and came back with a rather..... amusing story. We all remember the cosplayer we have affectionately nicnamed "Boot Vash" Dressed as Vas the stampeded with the most amazing boots and one of the most amusing and convincing cosplays I've ever seen. He went up on stage at the masquerade and the announcer started bidding him off, and little sis, who's slowly had her mind corrupted through years of living under my influence, stands up and yells "I bid $$60,000,000,000!!!" Only people who've seen trigun will get the reference, but be assured it's really funny.
I was quite sad, I only got to stay at the dance for about 2 hours cause I was so damn sick, missed out...::sniffles:: thanks to vicki and all them for visiting me in the room to cheer me up!! ::huggles::
sunday was great, met the authors of one of my fav webcomics, called Sublunary, only reason I don't have the link up is because I know some poeple who read my blog would be traumatised by it. Anyway, quite funny, was simply strolling through artist's alley when I saw a print that had a pic of suichii painting a sign saying "yaoi lives here". Said print now hangs on my door. was flipping through the rest of their art when I saw the sublunary prints and promptly started drooling. Bought many pretty prints and got them to draw me my own chibi. V cute.
All in all, con was great fun. Would have been better if I wasn't unconcious for half of it but, eh, whatcha gonna do? I was good this year tho, all I bought was 5 DVD's 3 Books, some prints form artist's alley and about 40 pins. but in my defense the pins are really funny!! Oh, and my fox tail. For those who were at the con I was wandering around wearing a human size fox tail that I bought there. The great part? At a con this is considered normal behaviour. Considering wearing it to school this week.....
anyway, gtg soon cause I do actually have to attend school tomorrow. So, for your amusement, quizes, don't ask why, just be amused by them.
