Okay, I was going to post this a few days ago, but due to circumstances beyond my control (aka: Being grounded from the computer till I finish moving) this is the first chance I've gotten.
A few days ago a very good friend of mine phoned me up. She was very upset, the reason she was upset? She had been fired. Now, although this kinda thing does happen every day, this time it should not have happened. The reason she was fired is that she had complained about her workplace on her blog. Nothing really specific, just being human and needing an outlet to bitch from. Someone at her work found said comments on her blog and she was fired for it.
In her own words: "Free speech is not as free as it used to be."
This is really depressing, the fact that someone would find a BLOG threatening is really sad: So let this be a warning to all those who read this.
Life is not really going that great for anyone at the moment. Julia's having to go back to school soon, Nikki's moved away (Miss you Nikki!!) Bryanna's upset, I'm moving, My mom's taken off for 2 weeks. Life really is a bitch sometimes. Oh and Brynne? Even if I don't say it all the time, I am still constantly amazed by the talent you have in everything, and so are those who taught you.
Anyway, on another note, CN is coming up in a few weeks!! I really don't know if I can go though, i've already been on one expensive trip this summer and my parents are balking at me doing another one so soon. Kinda sad eh? I'm moving out and I still listen to my parents. My mom is being really nice though, she's giving me $80 a month to spend so I can actually have a life in Universtiy. i love mommy sometimes. My dad is the complete opposite. i've been going through all my stuff to figure out what's going and what's staying and at one point I had a big pile of books out in the hall. When dad asked what they were for I replied that those were the books I'd chosen to take with me. With this he replied: "Why? You're not going to have any free time to read them anyway. Just read your textbooks." Thanks for the depressing life lesson Dad. Really.
Anyway, back to moving. Currently I'm working on the closet, so it looks like my clothes exploded all over the room while I sort them. Goody.
