Well, last night was the 25th Jubilee of my elementary school, OCS and they threw a party. Dear god that was strange to go to. They had whole piles of old teachers and principles and students.... and an embarassing sledeshow.....
It also brought back so many memories. Like camp Mediba: the canoo going over with me and michelle still in it.... Michelle sleepwalking and scaring the living shit out of everyone... and who can forget the 2ND DEGREE SUNBURN i got while at that damn place!! All over too... v. painful. They had pictures of my brothers and eric rafuse and the whole "Sailor spoons" thing.... kind of a crossover of Dirty socks and sailor moon... berfore dirty socks was even around, but still!
I remember the sports at that damn place too... Soccer baseball which was a ton of fun, especially when the girls kicked the boys asses!! Field days.... and thinking up every possible excuse to escape field days.... a proud family tradition that!! There were the "voluntary" choirs and plays that went on every year, with the seats filled with snoring grandparents and smiling parents and HUNDREDS of bloody cameras. You were flashblind by the end of the night.... The DISASTEROUS singing and band practice
There was the grade 8 Ottawa trip.... complete with those weirdos driving around asking about their lost matress!! They dragged out this horrible old newspaper photo where beej basically had a foot long 'fro. She has never lived that down, poor baby!!
The event itself was strange too... everyone got TALLER than me!! Even with the heels on I was one of the shorter returning kids... it was really quite odd. I got to see Mr Hosmar again... I had forgotten how damn CUTE that man was!! holy shit!! Every single girl who was taught by him had a crush on him.... and I found out that he and Mr Holmes are really bloody similar, I never could figure out who holmes reminded me of while I was at school, but the instant he saw me and started taunting me again I knew. They even look a litttle bit alike!! (definitely a good thing)Bryanna flirted with people, it was very strange to watch. Aimee just sat there with her mouth open half the time. She used to be the great flirt but this time Beej definitely outdid her!! There were speeches.... and speeches... and more speeches and then even more speeches. That was one of the many things I didn't miss about elementary school!! Nicole and her little minions have all turned into little wannabe goths.. the whole nine yards, black hair, makeup, clothes.. the only other thing they did was tease their hair and make themselves look like 10 cent hookers.
Turns out that i was the only one from my graduating class to even go to university. That was a strange turnabout. Everyone thought i would be the one working at Mickey D's for the rest of my life, so when I said I went to U of T everyone just got this vacant look on their faces. Mr Hosmar just said "you WILLLINGLY went back to get more schooling? without a court order?" Nice, eh?
Ah well, it was an interesting night, and now I'm off to go to wish noodle a happy birthday!! Or belated birthday anyway...
