I am the worst person for saving money in the world. I currently don't even have enough to pay my rent, but since Nikki is up here from the bible belt where they have NO anime stores, we went on a little shopping trip. Kiki's, Fata's, Anime X-Treme AND Beguiling. I swore to myself that I would NOT buy anything and made KT promise to stop me. But then we stepped into X-treme... and I saw this really pretty Clover poster and thought "Why not? It's only 2 bucks." And then I saw them, X volume 16 and the first 2 volume of Yami No Matsuei, just sitting there, I could hear the heavenly corus. Taunting me.... I picked up the Yami to take it to the counter, the whole time thinking... "It's not THAT bad of me...." And KT tosses on the copy of X16 stating that it is heresy not to buy it. So I spent WAY too much money but DAMN was it worth it!!! They translated it well!! Soooo happy with them right now.... It was good...
Then it was off to go see Colin Farel ponce around in a skirt trying to conquer the world. That movie had it's good points and it's "Oh dear god what the fuck were the directors thinking!!!" points. One of these, Alex's lover is dying so of course he runs to his side and they have this really shmoopy moment about how they've been together so long and how they can't imagine life without each other and then, and THEN, Alex lets go of his dying lovers hand, walks to the window, and makes a speach. And his lover, while choking and sputtering in the background, has to listen to this bugger prattle on about his dream while he dies. So after about five minutes of talking of "The great world to come" Alex turns around and spots his lover dead. KT was KILLING herself laughing at this. It was just SO badly done!! Really. Nikki's thing was the bloody sex scenes in the movie. They cut the gay ones beacuase they said that "It didn't suit the mood of the movie" Or some shit like that. But Alex and hepahistion didn't even bloody well KISS the entire movie!!! But Alex and Roxane got this absolutely moronic love scene. He hissed at her. Like a bad lion impression or something, so stupid.
Overall, Alex could have been SO much better but it was definitely a good laugh. I'd say, probably one of the most well done characters was Olympias, played by Angelina Jolie. She did a DAMN good job in that role, holy crap!!
The it was on to the fest, complete with alcohol. watched Boku, Level C, A bit of fake, some dragon half and a whole shitload of music videos. The nights real entertainment: Watching Nikki get drunk off of 2 and a half coolers and a few shots. And I don't mean little drunk, I mean falling over singing drunk. I missed doing this....
