Since KT has so kindly informed me that she's going completely batty, and since I've been trying to convince tons of people to read these for AGES I have a few fic reccomendations for everyone. I'll probably do this about once a week or so, a variety of fandoms, but I'll take request if you want to know some good fics for a specific fandom.
The Kojiki Trilogy: Come to Me A Love Story End of Worlds byUnder the Old Oak Tree Fandom: Yami No Matsuei Length: 3 Stories, each one getting progressively longer. Warnings: SLASH!! Some pretty big lemon scenes, only 1 or 2 per fic, but still.
Okay, have been trying to talk KT into reading this sucker for YEARS. It's one of the few fics out there that actually has GOOD origional characters. Kinda strange order to it though. The second part of the trilogy was actually written first. Then she wrote the first bit as a backstory to give a bit more depth to the OC's. Then she wrote the last bit of the trilogy. Kelly (the author) has an AMAZING story idea. When you read it keep in mind that english is NOT her first language and she still writes better than alot of people who DO speak english.
There is also a little side story called The Revenge of the OC which is just FUNNY. After she finished the Kojiki trilogy she decided to do a crossover. So, she wrote a crossover with the Harry Potter series called When Death Comes A'Knockin. Sounds like it would be shitty but it's amazing. And KT, I will get you to read it one of these days!!
The Bagenders Season 1 Season 2 by Lady Alyssa and Random Flatmate Fandom: The Lord of the Rings (parody) Length: 19 separate 'episodes' Warnings: Um, pervy old men, bad british humour.... some minor slashy stuff, but just as a humour point. And, to quote the lovely ladies: "If most fanfiction makes Tolkein roll in his grave we're making him do the mamba down there.'
And it came to pass that the fellowship were granted immortality for they had saved middle earth; and so they went their separate ways... But some fellowships were not meant to be broken... History has become legend; legend has become myth and myth has become merchandising.
Okay, the premis for this is that the Valor (the gods of middle earth) were terrified of actually having to put up with the whole fellowship when they eventually died, so they 'rewarded' them with immortality. Now for some strange reason (they know of no one else who would actually put up with them) they all live together in a little suburb outside of London. Bloody HILARIOUS, and I guarnetee you will never be able to look at Celebron with a straight face ever again.
