Got back from CN last night, CN is the big 5 part summer con at the Convention Center downtown. Anime, Comic Books, Sci-Fi, Horror and Gaming. Only problem it seems is as they add more aspects to the con, the anime part is shrinking and getting more and more expensive. Very few panels or good screenings, the dealers room is always good, but DAMN is it getting crowded.
So, some highlights... the cosplayers this year were rather numerous, saw some odd ones too. There were a couple wandering around as scorpian from Mortal Combat and Beaker from the muppets. Not something you really expect to see in combination. Due to the latest star wars movie the star wars cosplayers were out in full force this year. There were TONS of them!! Although, I must say, the guy dressed up as Chewie actually looked good enough to be real. There was even a 5 year old in a full darth vader costume!! Could almost choke on the sweetness. There were also suprisingly quite a few good stargate cosplayers, you usually see one or two of them at least, but this time there were at least a dozen. Including a Danny one!! Made KT very happy.
Got to see Elijah Wood as he was heading to one of the autograph session, that man is rather different looking in real life. Um, Adam Baldwin (Jayne from Firefly) was there, bryanna nearly instantly imploded upon seeing him. She was rather happy! Kevin Sorbo was there, can't look at the man with a straight face, far too many years of him playing Hercules for me to take him seriously.
Got to see KT and Jenn's new place, quite nice really, they just moved in so it's a mess, but still a good place. met Jenn's friend Michelle, she was quite amusing, intorduced us all to BattleStar Galactica, which I really need to see more of....Oh, and Nikki? We missed you!! Hurry up and get your ass up to Canada!!
