    debate, argument...and the occasional

..:I am not dead. No. Really.:..

Okay, so it's been.... *Checks last post*, ouch, a month since I last posted. Does anyone even still read this thing?

    *crickets*

Well that's encouraging. No, seriously, I just really haven't had anything that I wanted to blog about or the energy to do it. Got bumped up to more than full time at work (really meaning I had to start doing another girls full time job in addition to my own) and have basically spent the last month working like a madwoman and passing out at the end of the day.

Because fans really are 'tards sometimes

Alrighty, the con report (and yes I know it's a week late), pictures are posted throughout for you all to laugh at and use for blackmail purposes at some later point. God I missed the con's tho. We didn't make it to the masquerade ball this year, even though I was really really looking forward to it. See, we didn't get the pre-reg tickets, so we ended up standing in a line for 3 and a half hours only to be told that we might get in. At that point it was pretty late, so we basically went "Screw it" and left. V. Depressing.

But damn did we look good going for nothing:
Tiff's insane red dress, this thing could have smuggled in small children
KT's red dress and Zorro mask

The hotels, I have decided, suck ass wherever you go. They're always bloody pricks. So we get up there, and we're arranging all the keys and stuff when the Hotel woman tells us that we can't use the credit card and have to pay for it all in cash. Right now. ARRRGH!! I hate it when they don't tell you this kinda shit in advance, it's just like at the Renaissance 2 years ago. We had 8 rooms and they only told us when we got there that each room required a $50 deposit, which I then had to pay out of my own pocket and wait for everyone to pay me back. Giant pain in the ass.

Bought... okay I caved and bought absolutely mad amounts of manga this year, a total of 28 by the end. I had actually meant to go to Artist Alley and buy some shiny new artwork, but there wasn't really anything new with one big exception. Kelly came. If you go back to my first post ever you will see me lamenting the ending of a wonderful webcomic called Arcana. Sadly Kelly stopped writing and kinda dissappeared. Then, a couple of months ago KT ran across the comic Vampirates and we thought "Wow this chick's art is great! It actually looks alot like Kelly's work, I guess that's where she got her inspiration". Jones, the author of Vampirates, then announced she swould be swinging by and hanging about Artist's Alley at Anime North this year. Naturally, we were very pleased about this. Then we got the actual guest listing for Artist Alley, Jones was not on the ballot, but Kelly barrie was. So we got to meet (And completely terrify I think) Our favourite webcomic author. V. Shiny.

KT with the art she commisioned off Kelly

Hmmm, other people I got to see at the con... saw Rose (Old friend from guides... yes I was in guides, shuttup.) Got to see Noelle and Nic and Vicki after almost a year of everyone being off to university and various other things. Got to visit the button girl, who still claims I put her through college.... Not quite sure I can dispute the claim sadly enough...

Saw 'Sunta at the Alley too... selling insanely nice corsets and pillow sets:
    Awwww! Isn't it cute?

We also did the whole cosplay bit again this year, just Yami No Matsuei for me and Kt, but it was weird. We've done this cosplay before and gotten maybe five or six people the whole con who recognized it. This time there were dozens. And we only did it for a few hours!! Tiff also did her insane Geisha cosplay with the 8 pound bright purple geisha wig that takes up as much room as Tiffany in my car. Seriously, that thin could have been labeled as a deadly weapon the amount of times she nearly took someone's eye out with one of the decorations.

    See? Insane.

She also did an insane Gothic Lolli cosplay that made her look kinda creepily like one of Muraki's little dolls. (Although, knowing Tiff that might have actually been the point of it.)

    See?:
    Seriously. Muraki doll.

    Now: Random kickass cosplayers!!
Mr. T. In Boxes. Oh god.
Tiff and the man (Yes that's a guy) From the store Seduction
One of the best bloody Hatsuharu cosplayers I've ever seen. It probably helps that the guy was like 6 foot five and insanely skinny
    Escaflowne cosplayers! Good ones too!
Mario... and the giant fireball spitting flower... (The flower chick's outfit was insanely good and all handmade. God I wish I had some kind of talent at sewing)
I have no idea what show this was from, but holy shit was that a cool cosplay!
This was one of the better gothic lollies wandering about the con, poor girl, she took two steps and got stopped for pictures.
Nintendo cosplayers. Cause we all really are enourmous geeks. One of them even had a giant game cartridge and speakers built in to play the nintendo music from various games
Awwww! I missed the gundam cosplayers!
A very good reason why fans should never EVER get bored

The purchases of Manga (Minus the three my little sis nabbed when I got home)
    God I need help

That's about it for the con, do another post later about the sheer shittiness that is the movie X-Men 3: The Last Stand. Gah. Oh, and also? This are the shrunken version of the pics cause Photobucket has a space limitation, for anyone who wants a good copy of all the pics (Cause they're not all posted here) Just comment or send me an email.

    Ciao!
