So. Do me a favour, go look out the window. Now, imagine that at 6:30 in the morning when only one lane is clear on the 410 and the 401 and you'll have my commute this morning.
Last night was actually even worse. My route home consists of Hwy. 403 to Hwy 401, to Hwy 410 and then a few smaller roads in Brampton home. Depending on the day of the week and the traffic it can take anywhere from 20-45 minutes on a good day.
It took me over 2 hours yesterday to get home.
Was driving down the 403 and about 20 cars ahead of me everyone suddenly stops and starts wildly swerving. A tractor trailer crashed. The truck was in the center lane of the highway with quicker traffic passing it on the left. The damn truck blew out a tire just as one of those really little, and complete deathtrap type cars, (you know, like the one I drive?) passed the truck on the left. The truck swerved and completely smushed the car against the cement divider of the highway.
Pretty sure the person in the car is, if not already dead, very very badly hurt. And the most disturbing thing? While the little car crumpled just as easily as a can of pop getting run over? I don't think the truck was even that badly damaged.
So yeah, over an hour while the police and ambulance cleared the scene and then another hour home simply because of backed up traffic.
