A good story should provoke discussion,
    debate, argument...and the occasional
    bar fight.

..:12 of 12 Project: 12 Shows (complete with trailers) that are brilliant.:..

Well, month 2 and I actually remembered. Seeing as the writers strike is still going, I figured I'd post 12 shows that people could check out in the meantime. Alot of the BBC, as they are brilliant, as well as a few other underappreciated shows currently on TV

    Here we go:

Secret diary of a Call Girl - This show features Billie Piper (Rose from Dr. Who) as a high class prostitute working in London. Wonderful dialogue as well as a charming main character. Also? It helps that Billie is absolutely gorgeous.

    Life on Mars
    - Sam Tyler was an ordinary cop working in London, till an accident happened. Now he's stuck back in time and trying to work out a way to get home. Wonderful main character and a really origional plot.

Doctor Who - NOT the series from the 70's and 80's, this is a whole new Doctor and a whole new show. The Doctor is a 900 year old alien who travels in time and space with his companions, ususally managing to get himself into alot of trouble while he's at it!

Torchwood - A spinoff of Dr. Who, though it does stand alone just fine. Captain Jack Harkness and his rather odd team make up Torchwood, an organization dedicated to protecting mankind and arming the human race against what's out there.

Life - Detective Charlie Cruz was put away for a crime he didn't commit. Now, let out of prison, with a rather.... unorthadox view on life, he sets about finding out what really happened.

Boston Legal - A spinoff of the show "The Practice", though in my opinion it's alot better. Boston Legal follows the premier legal firm Crane, Poole and Shmidt through their more... unique cases and mental issues. This is a good example of the show:

NCIS - A spinoff of "JAG". Anyone starting to see a pattern here? Anyway, another good stand-alone, Navy Criminal Investigative Service has brilliant characters and some really interesting cases.

Bones - According to Dr. Brennan, bones tell all. Using forensic anthropology to solve some of histories stranger cases.

Battlestar Galactica - A remake of an old show, but without the sucking. Incredible cinematography, characters, incredibly complex and inventive plots and some rather horrifying enemies.

Jekyll - The re-telling of the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde in a modern setting, very creepy amd rather twisted.

Supernatural - 2 brothers go cross-country hunting demons to try and fix some pretty big mistakes, and prevent the end of the world.

Eureka - Sheriff Carter goes to work in small town Eureka, where everyone is extroidinary and nothing is beyond your grasp. Wonderfully funny and adorable characters.
