    ..:Um....Hi?:..

So it turns out that working 2 jobs ACTUALLY equalled me working literally every day for the last two months. In between everything else I was working to finish in the last little while, blogging kinda fell to the wayside. On the other hand, I managed to pay off a VERY big chunk of my debt, fixed my poor much abused Puddles, and got pretty much everything I was aiming to get finished this spring all done.

So, have moved into my new room. Took a week of painting and fixing and literally down to the minute moving, but it's done and I have all of my new space all worked out. Love having the bigger room for several reasons; I get to see real sunlight in the mornings again, I'm not facing the school and am therefore not woken up by children screaming at recess, I actually have room to breathe in my new space and I managed to organize all my belongings in a way I actually really feel comfy with. There's something to be said for a personal living space that is definitely MINE.

Had the joint birthday party with Kat at velvet underground. Had an absolute blast, dressed up in steampunk/gothy gear, went out for sushi then went dancing. I really missed just letting lose like that, tearing up the dance floor with the girls and not letting any guys in. Have GOT to do that more often!

Have been working for both the clothing store and the book store till last week when I had finally managed to work up enough capital to quit the clothing store. And as much as I would have LOVED to have burned my bridges there, unfortunately I wanted the references they could give me and couldn't really go out all blaze of glory (even after they begged me to stay on...)

Working at the bookstore however is a blast. I get to talk with intelligent people. EVERY DAY!! Do you know how much I missed that? And the constant exposure to the world of books doesn't hurt anything either! We had the toystore opening a few weeks back, had alot of fun, I got one of 2 reactions to my costume: either little girls ran up and said I was wearing such a pretty dress... or they quite literally ran away screaming. No, really. I had 6 girls run away from me that day, had a blast though!

Working at the also store led to me meeting the author of the book of awesome, based on the website 1000 awesome things, which is pretty much guarenteed to make you smile. It proves life truly is full of awesome things...

I also participated in the boobquake last week, go here for a bit more info, but needless to say, girl scientists and feminists and just people everywhere across north america dressed as complete skanks to prove that boobs do not cause earthquakes. Yes you read that right, hit the link, trust me, it's worth it. (And the day was DEFINITELY worth it for all the brilliant looks we got!)

Kat and Shilo had their fashion show last week too, went FANTASTICALLY. They were the headliners this year and worked their butts off to get the collection out, but it was damn well worth it. (And yes, that is my brother modeling!)

Go Here and become a fan, they deserve it! Another notable collection was the girl who cam on the day after Kat with the Dr. Who inspired line. Yes, you read that right, it was brilliant!

And yes, that is a Dalek dress.

Hmmmm, a few random other tabs to close out, Kat linked me this, well worth a look as the talent this takes is kinda scarey... This is by far the coolest thing that Dan Akroyd has ever done, and by gods I want one! Also, who wants to join Starfleet with me? *grins like a lunatic* Speaking of trek, go over to Nikki's blog here as she has, by far, the best first con report EVER. I would never, EVER wash that hand!!

Alright, and lastly there was this past Sunday. My old friend James and his fiance (now wife) Jenna finally tied the knot. It was an absolutely beautiful day, slightly windy, the dress was incredible... but of course, being my friends, things went weirdly wrong. Firt? Jenn and james are both electricians, and the mikes and electronics had a few... technical difficulties. Like preview to a Supernatural episode of electronic difficulties. At a pair of professional elevtricians wedding. Gods.

Also, the wedding itself was outdoors, and there was a little lined alcove made of 12 ft tall potted trees placed in a circle and decorated with crystals and silk and lamps. However, being a windy day, the couple was in the middle of their vows when one of the trees fell on the bride. And when exchanging rings 5 minutes later it was the grooms turn to be walloped by foliage. The ceremony finished with matching groomsman holding up the trees on either side. Luckily Jenna has a great sense of humour and was practically killing herself laughing the whole time. They're definitely well-matched.

Further proof that they make a great couple? The introduction of the married couple was set to Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole", and their first dance to Bowie's "Under Preassure." Brilliant! We also had a bit of a game throughout the night, they had a giant pair of die, and couples coming up to roll them, Even number, the couple had to kiss, odd number and the bride and groom had to kiss. So my friend Kyle went up, grabbed the mike, said "I'm so confident that I'll get an odd number, I'm gonna bring Keith up with me." These gentlemen were 2 of the groomsman, and they rolled an even number. I love that wedding!!

The guests had our own game going, we had everyone pick a single word, any word that they could think of off the top of our heads, and then we strung them together into three word clusters. Then we brought each phrase up to the bartenders and had them invent a drink for that phrase, and make up 15 shots. Let's just say that by the end of the night we were all just a liiiitle bit tipsy. Some of the more memorable ones were: "Professor Moriarty's Power-Ballad", "Magic Carpet Ride", "Incorrigible Peanut Music" and "Red Weiner Bubble", after that I kinda lost track....

All in all an interesting few months, and looks like the next few aren't going to be any quieter.

    This is gonna be fun.

    ..:Kareoke and Circus Freaks:..

So wow, my friends are awesome.

Night out with Tiff was an absolute blast, spent 3 hours at the circus school doing the flying trapeze and watching people contort themselves into increasingly unlikely shapes. The whole time I was up on the Trap pretty much consisted of me swearing a blue streak and thanking god that I'm near-sighted and therefore couldn't see how insanely high up I was. Was told I did fairly well for a first-timer, no flailing or screaming (there was alot of that) managed to hook my legs on the bar, do the backflip dismount, not kill myself, etc. I did catch my arm on one of the wires and have a nice bruise to show for it, but all in all, not bad.

Ran back to Tiff's place, then out to the pub to meet: Oscar (fellow circus freak) a musical theatre troupe, and the jousting (and apparently singing) knights of mideval times. And lo and behold, beer was brought forth, and it was drunk. And it was good. Kareoke was sung, and it was also good, Mere attempted to sing, and it was a nightmare, but still fun. Musical theatre troup entertained all by doing insane dances and such, singing the score of Avenue Q (dirty minded puppets....) and then canme the pop songs. 2 of the guys came out and started crooning out the backstreet boys as a joke, complete with soulfull looks, dramatic pauses, and some of the theatre girls down front making ridiculous and rather lude gestures.

All in all, a damn fine night.

Crashed at Tiff's, went home, then out to lunch with the family, got some sweet ass swag, then headed out to the bar where Hayley Stark played a great set and people kept buying me shots. I was.... rather beyond drunk by the end of the night, but still great fun.

Now am at work, dodging angry monday people and trying to placate a few of the dimmer-witted people that we deal with. Back to reality now. Whee.

    ..:Bad luck and Birthdays:..

So. This really has been the week from hell. Whomever I ticked off up there?I;m sorry ok? Now stop taking it out on my pets!!

Tribble is still pretty sick, her ear is actually better, but at the same time, the medication seems to make her a bit dizzy and sick. She keeps running into the edes of things and the bookshelves. V. cute to see, but really sad when she starts crying because she can't actually make it over to her food dish. Poor baby girl. Never more happy in my LIFE that I shell out the money on pet insurance every month.

Birthday... has gone to shit as usual. Was planning on having small party this weekend, about 10 people, some wine, some chees, some ridiculously sugary snacks, etc. Oh, and booze of course. People all confirmed that they were coming, then I had a storm of voice mails and txts saying people couldn't come after all, so sorry and all that. Bah.

Accidently blew up a bit at a few people, but this is WHY I never do anything for my birthday, cause this is inevitably what happens. People suck.

Tiff is kinda awesome though, we're going to the circus tonight and then out to Kareoke with the boys from Mideval Times. I am literally going to spend my night with the Knights and Circus Freaks. Sweet. Like a mini-renfaire, but with more booze and bad pop music. You know what? That kinda is a ren-faire....

So, this weekend will be spent with Friends and family, just not the way I was actually expecting.

    Here's hoping it doesn't suck.

    ..:Music and Masquerades:..

Okay, so, events that have happened since the last massive rant. KT got back into town, met up with her on Sunday morning along with Tiff and a few of the other Vic girls for the traditional breakfast at Mels. Wandered down to the Word on the Street festival for a few hours, as well as the vic book sale (and before anyone comments, I only spent $20. So Silence). Get home and pretty much just bummed about all day, watched a few shows and movies, then tumbled over to Futures. And there was cheescake, oh god was there cheesecake.

See, Tiff is officially another year older as of saturday, (I shall be heading out this weekend to buy her the 'Shoes of Awesome.' A pair of frighteningly expensive fluevogs in other words, because this is Tiff. The girl who, when her dad offered to get her a new computer for her birthday as her old one could double as a rather effective club if one so desired, instead got him to buy her $400 Gwen Stefani purple snakeskin boots. And no, that was not a typo. Purple. Snakeskin.)

    ::Shudders::

KT headed back to Oz today. V. Sad, unfortunately didn't get to see her off yesterday as I pretty much went home, sat down on my bed to read a few things, and woke up all confused at 11:30 that night with Jenn already asleep and the normally placid cat chewing on my nose. Oh, and cold. The apartment is normally a bit stuffy so we leave most of the windows and such open, but last night? Was bloody well FREEZING. Ended up piled under blankets with a cat to each side, weirdly comforting feeling that. Anyone who's ever been to my apartment has heard a comment or 2 about how I don't actually sleep: I burrow. I tend to throw as many damn blankets as I can stand on the bed and wake up in a nice warm cocoon, only downside to all this is that it makes it damn hard to get out of bed in the morning.

So to KT: Wherever you are: go snog Geoff for me (you know you wanna!)

Halloween and Thanksgiving and all those fun type things are coming up this month. Thanksgiving is, as usual, being spent up at the cottage with the family, eating far too much and trying to keep the pets from killing each other out of sheer frustration. God I love thanksgiving.

Halloween is something else however: Not sure what I'm going to do as I can't afford the Little Red Riding hood costume, and I doubt Tiff has the time to even make it anymore at this point. Too bad, it would have been awesome. So I guess I'll try to go out with a few friends, maybe hit a club or two, probably wearing the devil contacts and doing a painted masquerade. (as in: piecing togerther costume from ren gear and painting on a masquerade mask by hand out of eyeliner and circus face paints if I can grab them from Tiff to practice). We'll have to see.

I really want to try and organize a full masquerade ball at some point though... maybe swing the idea to Kat, see if she has any suggestions... But yeah, I have some wicked ideas for a few masquerade masks and such that I want to try and build over the next few months... (which, in reality, means that I'll buy a whole bunch of supplies, spend a few weeks on one, then get frustrated and end up feeding it to the cats).

Also: I have had an epiphany. I've been sorting out all my music recently to try and figure out what I want on my Ipod and building playlists and sorting through files I haven't heard in YEARS. One of the artists I was sorting through was Bowie.

    A few observations:
    - The Man had the most silly haircut in the world, it's still infamous
    - He croons
    - Guyliner
    - He wore skinny jeans, and still does
    - Most of his songs are either about heartbreak or about... well... stringing together whatever random crap rhymes really

Conclusion: Bowie was the origional Emo-boy (just with more glitter)

*ducks to avoid the mass of projectiles thrown by friends and family who love Bowie*

    Eeep.

And now it is 2pm, and I have been typing this entry for the last 6 hours in between customs, customers and filing. I think I'm gonna go actually work now....

    ..:My Birthday:..

So today is my birthday, thanks for all the emails and the like from everyone, I feel loved! *grins* Am off to meet with the family later for dinner and likely embarrasing stories and than out for drinks with a few of the girls for an hour or so.

Yeah, I know I suck, but I don't really care all that much about birthdays, so whatcha gonna do?

Although, one nice thing? Was at work on thursday, and manager (who is a friend) got the chefs to make me a little cookie cake for my birthday and then plied me with hard cider right before I had to go to class. I remember absolutely NOTHING about that lecture, I know I was there, but beyond that.....

Have well and truly messed up my foot, the oven I mentioned getting dropped? Yeah, that still hurts like hell and walking is..... fun, therefore being on my feet at work is pretty much the highlight of my day, what with the 8 hours of mindnumbing pain I get to be in. Also! Turns out all the tests and such from the doc came back as bronchitis, so I get to keep taking all the fun antibiotics and have to go in once a week to make sure it's not getting more serious on me.

Funny thing though, I go into the doctors, and they spent more time questioning me about my little sisters allergies to anesthesia (malignant hyperthermia) than they did all my own medical stuff. Aparently they've never actually seen a case of it at the hospital I was at and they were bloody facinated.

Jenn, however, is currently sick as a dog, she's got a pretty nasty case of the mumps. Which for some reason she's totally blaming on me even though I don't have it. She's yelling because it's called the bloody kissing desiese and I'm the one with the boyfriends so I should be the sick one, not her. She's just a little bit cranky about this seeing as she never gets sick (no really, NEVER) and she's so ill that walking from her room to the kitchen made her so weak yesterday that she had to sit down and eat her breakfast on the floor cause she couldn't move. It's kinda funny to see all her friends reactions, as Jenn never gets sick everyone immediately went madly overboard on the TLC and have been dropping off: Packets of special teas, ginger drinks, vitamins, soups, crackers, flatbreads, chili's and pretty much every other kind of comfort food under the sun. It's hilarious.

Anyway, am now off to relax and do a bit of a mini-movie fest.... I think I'll watch Secretary, I'm in the mood for something weird...

    .:Thursday, March 13:.

    ..:On break, kinda:..

Okay, so I am currently on break at work, and more tired than I've been in a long long time. Went to the doctors yesterday, got poked for a few hours, and they they concluded that my current state of misery could be attributed to several things:
1 - My poor abused kidneys have finally decided to move on to warmer pastures nad leave me to suffer and slowly turn yellow.
2 - Might be a mild form of diabetes acting up, so they're sending me to a dietician to see if that helps (although, what is the guy gonna say? You eat crap? I know this, I have no time/energy/money to have a proper diet)
3 - Some kind of viral chest infection that everyone at work has caught and is aparently going around campus.
4 - A sleep disorder, which I would have no time to fix until schools out, so even if it is that, there's no real help for me there.

So I got perscribed a whole pile of new drugs (which are probably useless) and then had to sit around for 2 and a half hours for them to fill the damn persciption for me, so I missed all 3 of my morning classes instead of just the one.

    I hate doctors.

No news or luck yet getting a summer job, so that kinda blows, I have a feeling I might end up crawling back to the trucking jobs for the summer, just cause I KNOW how to do it and it pays well enough that it might be worth it. Even if it might finally destroy my soul to go back there again.

Birthday is in a little over a week now, no real plans, I might just have a day where I unplug the phone, lock all the doors, dump the cat off at a friends and just vegetate and read all day. Haven't done that in quite a while now.

Today is the March Break orientation on campus, which means there are litterally hundreds of the little fuckers milling about and driving everyone on campus to distraction. I don't remember being that much of a shit at that age, even though I probably was, and I really don't understand how my parents can stand to have to teach those twatting wankers MATH every year, I would have gone batshit in the first week alone.

Anyway, break is now over, so it's back to smiling and pretending I'm NOT about to fall down dead at any given moment.

OK, this is.... 2 days early, but I can't be arsed to work out the time difference and do this properly. So. happy birthday KT! Go Here and enjoy. And I swear to god if this doesn't keep you occupied for at least 2 days I'm going to beat your head in.

    .:Friday, March 23:.

    ..:Birthday:..

Dude, Taiko drumming? So. Fucking. Cool. Thank you so much KT!!! Seriously, one of my presents was tickets to the Kodo show down at Massey hall. A location with A - really sweet acoustics, and B - the most uncomfortable chairs in the world.

Still, show was well worth it, there were over 12 different kinds and sizes of drums in the show as well as a few stringed and wind instruments to compliment some of the pieces. There were also a couple of hilarious goof off's in the show who acted as some of the better drummers as well as the comic relief during the setup.

Also, strangely enough, they got the audience to actually do something in tune. As KT, said, Canadians are kinda notorius for being big, loud and tonedeaf at shows (A stereotype not helped along by bands like great big sea and nickleback). They actually got us clapping and hooting and generally making big dorks of ourselves in unison and right on the beat.

Unfortunately, it seems that although my siblings and my friends all remembered that I turned 21 yesterday ( as did my co-workers oddly enough) my parents appear to have forgotten. Wow, I feel loved.

Now, work and then the Pancino show at the duke tonight. Sweet.
