I love summer rain storms. No, really. As long as I'm not going to wonderland or an outdoor festival, bring it on. But even I have to say enough is enough. My hands are ACHING in this weather, and I've been popping advil like M&M's for the past week it's gotten so bad.
This weekend should be good though, going to see most of the family. Have Monica and Owen's party on Sat and then Sun is the wonderland day (yay!).
Of course, since I'm out all weekend, this means I'm going to be frantically working on Tiff's shield all next week.
Bugger.
Ah well, it's the week leading up to a con, it's supposed to be mad.
Okay, this weekend? Both really really sucked and was really really fun. I feel very conflicted.
Spent literally ALL of friday night alternating between chatting with Tiff and doodling and then SCREAMING at my drivers because I got stuck on call cause a dispatcher called in sick. Boo-urns
Saturday was a good breakfast out with tiff, then 10 hours of scanning family photo's for my mum. My back is killing me but I have some freaking awesome blackmail material. And possibly a few things to send to Mon.
Sunday was... good breakfast out with a bunch of the girls, then coming out to find a ticket on my car. Going to wonderland to get shat on by a bird. Staying all day in the park and having a blast and then spending 2 hours driving everyone home and not getting to sleep until very VERY late and am quite useless. I've never been so pissed off and happy at the same time.
Okay, so Mich came over on sunday and we went out to wonderland. We figure, "it's supposed to be cloudy with light rain, we'll be good without alot of sun gear." so I didn't put very strong sunblock on, so I am currently a LOBSTER.
I did however get to go on Behemoth again, that thing is much MUCH scarier whilst sober, I can tell you that. Sat in line for topgun for an hour and a half and spent the whole time getting hit on by the group of guys behind us who could not take a freaking hint.
Then it rained.
ALOT.
It was weird when the freaking CAROSEL was suddenly the most popular ride in the whole park
And people started stealing the lids off the garbage cans to keep the rain off.
And collecting in small huddles, we passed DOZENS of these.
And people treated it like it was the end of the freaking world and started running for their LIVES
And of course, by the end of it all, both me and 'chelle were completely SOAKED.
It was AWESOME.
Decided to leave after wandering around the park in the torrential downpour for a while, you know your wet when you can ACTUALLY empty a cup of water out of your shoe before you get into your car by the way. But agter an hour the park looked like it was gonna be closed for the rest of the day so we drove home.
And into a hail storm.
One so bad all traffic on the 400 had STOPPED and people were hiding under the overpass in an attempt to keep windshields from getting shattered.
All in all a rather.... interesting day.
Also? I just finished watching the new Who. And the trailer for next weeks epi.
So, in the ever expanding list of stupid shit Mere seems to injure herself doing, lets add laundry to the list.
Was over at Bills, managed to fall down the stairs, caught myself and wrenched my shoulder. Can't actually move my right arm that much without a whole lot of pain, and I can practically FEEL the bones in my shoulder grinding.
Ah well, I could go the doctors, but I'd rather go to wonderland instead.
