    Kiki, really cute!

This is what happens when fans are allowed to breed. (Although these two were RIDICULOUSLY cute!)

    This joker? Was fucking. Perfect.

By far the best and coolest looking death I've seen in a LOOOONG time.

Just to show you how bloody tall, I'm in freaking 3 inch HEELS!!!

    Awesome Two-face, amazing makeup!

    ..:Cons and Chickadees:..

So, this past weekend was Fan Expo, the yearly trek into all things geeky. Spent Friday and Saturday helping out Drew and Kat at their booth in Artist`s Alley and Sunday bumming about with Tiff. Went as dark Willow this year, with a proper costume and everything for once.

No really big names that I wanted to see this year unfortunately, although I did make Leonard Nimoy yelp when he saw my contacts as I stood in line next to his booth for another thing.

Some really cool cosplayers as always, but I have to say that the definite winner was the X-men Steampunk Troup. Absolutely amazingly cool adaptation on the 80`s series X-Men group!!

After that I bummed back up to my parents house in Caledon in an attempt to strip and re-finish the decks for them before the year is out, as with all things involving my parents and any form of home improvement, it didn`t exactly work out as origionally planned. Including me spending over half an hour ducking the Dive-Bombing Chickadees that were angry with me for moving their feeder before I finally gave up and went back inside.

Will have to come back tomorrow and re-do the whole thing, as well as pulling out the giant mutant cranberry bushes that have taken over the backyard in the last couple of years. Bleaugh.

Ah well, off to work now, what fun.

    ..:Too much rain:..

I love summer rain storms. No, really. As long as I'm not going to wonderland or an outdoor festival, bring it on. But even I have to say enough is enough. My hands are ACHING in this weather, and I've been popping advil like M&M's for the past week it's gotten so bad.

This weekend should be good though, going to see most of the family. Have Monica and Owen's party on Sat and then Sun is the wonderland day (yay!).

Of course, since I'm out all weekend, this means I'm going to be frantically working on Tiff's shield all next week.

    Bugger.

Ah well, it's the week leading up to a con, it's supposed to be mad.

    ..:Spears and Shields:..

So, tonight is KT's grand going away party. Where I have a feeling there will be much booze and geekery.

    Excellent.

Have just located the needed supplies to make Tiff's 300 cosplay shield. In fine Meredith tradition, the thing is going to be pieced together from a plastic snow disc, computer case straps, plastic strips, screws, a whole lot of duct tape and spray paint. And fake blood of course. Duh.

And she needs a massive, uselessly oversized weapon. I'm thinking a spear.

    Nice and phallic that.

Will update better when I actually have more to say

..:Nerds and artists and Ianto, Oh My!:..

Well, KT is back. Went to go meet her yesterday at the airport, where she immediately latched onto her mum and started gnawing on us.

Is it weird that I missed that?

Anyway, helping Kat with all the prep for the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibit tonight, she got herself in a real jam and was practically promising the moon for someone to give her and all her work a ride into the city, the poor girl. So am helping her lug it all up there and back, promises to be a good show too, plan to spend a good chunk of sunday bumming about down there.

The new Hellboy movie comes out tomorrow (insert fangirlish ranting here) cannot WAIT to go see it, and the reviews so far are really really good too, from both the geeks and the normies, so am really excited about this.

Polaris is on Saturday, which means come saturday I meet Cliff Simon and Gareth David-Lloyd. Also? They just announced that Rainbow Sun Frakes is coming, last minute addition.

Bloody hell, I'm meeting Ianto this weekend.

    .....

    ....*head explodes*.....

.....okay, am back now, sorry, had to go off to my happy place where Jack and Ianto are currently.... well, lets just say Ianto's flexible.

My poor baby sister is currently freaking the fuck out as she actually HAS a ticket to Polaris, but is trapped in Peterburough with no money and no conceivable way home. Normally I'd go get her, and I may actually end up doing just that, but that means driving all the way out to PETERBUROUGH, and that really annoys me. Why the hell did she have to move so far off?

Anyway, back to mad planning and trying to organize pretty much everyone I know into Nergasm 2.0.

God I love my life sometimes

    .:Monday, July 7:.

Have been off caffeine, alcohol, milk and sugar since I got sick, and have to stay off all of the above for a minimum of another week. The only thing in the entire apartment I can drink is water and the only thing I can really eat without being violently ill is pasta or bread.

    Sick sucks.

KT made a note today about associations with music, kinda interesting, she said I reminded her of songs by POE. Which I can live with, I like their music. She, on the other hand, will forever be associated with a weird mix of Garbage, and punk covers of bad power ballads.

Went to the ren faire over the weekend, once again shocked and amazed all with my incredible ability to burn whilst wearing 55spf sunscreen. I think Tiff has given up on me not being all lobster-like for the summer.

Also, next Feb is the NY Comic Con, where they have.... quite the guest list going. Neil Gaiman, the entire cast from Hellboy (yes Tiff, that includes Doug Jones)Stan Lee, Frank Miller, the writer for the Eternals and Arkham Asylum. If they end up getting Dave Mccean I may just have to sacrifics a small child so I am able to go, cause DAMN do I want to. Beej? Tiff? KT? You up for another con?

In other news, it's looking more and more as if the "trip to England" may come down to the wire on funds, so I'll know aprox. at the end of the summer if I can actually manage to go, or if I'm going to have to put off vacation till next spring when I can go to Aussie and NZ with Jenn and KT.

Why can't I just win the lotto and go to both?

KT is home in 2 days, whilst at the ren faire I talked 3 total strangers into coming to Polaris with the lure of Cliff Simon and Gareth David-Lloyd, I feel like such a good productive fangirl!

    ..:I Love Cons:..

OK, seriously good time today. First off? Paid for a day pass and accidently was given a weekend pass, so I get to go sat and sun too.

Second? I can afford stuff this year.

Third? I MADE $450 AT THE NOMINOICHI TONIGHT!!!!

    FUCK YEAH!

    But must sleep now

    .:Friday, May 16:.

    ..:At the cottage:..

Am currently back in the boonies, up at my mum and dad's cottage out in forest. Since I couldn't really afford a birthday present for my mum I offered to come up and open up and fix the cottage for her. Get all the shutters off, air it out, sweep, clean the eavestroughs, mow the lawn, paint the deck, etc.

Unfortunately it looks as if it might rain up here a good chunck of the weekend, so I'm pretty much gonna have to finish up all of the above damn quick.

In other news, something I found kinda funny, the gas prices have gotten so outrageously bad, that the cattle farmers out in Alberta? Are regressing about 50 years. Instaed of using ATV's or Jeeps or Motorcycles to do the cattle stampede, they're going to do it the old fashioned way, on horseback. Which is actually fairly outdated nowadays as it makes the thing about 10 times more dangerous.

I thought it would be really cool to see though.

Also? Ignore my last post with me grumbling about being broke, got my tax refund, so I can actually pay off all my bills this month no problem, always a nice thing to be able to say.

I have the first 3 shows for the Molson Amphitheatre next week too. Kanye West, Sheryyl Crow and Eric Clapton. Depending on how good or bad they go I'll decide whether or not I want to keep the job for the rest of the summer.

Now I am gonna crash for a bit as squinting while driving for 3 hours has given me the headache to end all headaches.

    Must sleep

    .:Monday, August 27:.

..:The good, the bad, and the downright Creepy:..

So, haven't blogged in a few weeks now. I have a new trainee at work who has been occupying my time with her complete incompetence at this job. (Seriously, it's not that hard, and it's been a WEEK now and she hasn't improved). Anyway, not going to rant about work because that will just piss me off far too much.

So, the pirate fest last week was small, but what was there was kinda fun. I don't think this is going to be a lasting event in any case. The Parrot Aid society was there, with the cutest damn bird in the world. This thing snuggled! His name was Peaches, and he was adorable, the thing even made BISH hug something. A sight to see. Met a leather worker who does custom made orders that are NICE for a damn good price, going to commision a couple of pieces off her I think.

We did the first of the old movie fests, and I gotta admit I've been converted *ducks to avoid the flying pigs* Dammit.....

Last Sunday was the trek to Wasaga Beach. It was kinda cold, but lots of fun, was digging sand out of my ears for DAYS after we got back, and we got horribly horribly lost on the way back. Never ever trust google maps, they're evil (and don't seem to get the fact that U-turns are illegal on most canadian roads)

The week was hell (see rant about trainee above) but the weekend was sweet.

This past weekend being, of course, the yearly event Fan Expo at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It was V. good, amazing costumes (mostly really good Star Wars ones as it was the 30th anniversary for the origional films) It was also the year of spending far far too much money... I got Sandman. The giant leatherbound edition. It was about half of my spending money and it was SO worth it!! Also got several other stand-alone short stories or comics, and a few more stuffies and posters.

Posters forthcoming when..... I have time, maybe tonight if I can actually remember!

Then last night happened, I had gotten back from the con at around 6pm, had my brother and sis-in-law over for dinner. Good food, had some good new comics to read and a cat who wasn't being a complete spaz for once. It was shaping up to be a good night. So I settle in and get changed for bed and I hear someone knocking at the door. It's a guy who lives across the courtyard from me, nice person. Who said "Um, I don't mean to scare you, but I just chased off a man who was crouched down and looking through your window. He's gone now, but I thought I should warn you."

    My window.

    Of my room.

Where I was just getting changed for bed.

    Fuck.

I spent the night locking and pulling the blinds on all windows and doors and not sleeping (seriously, am dead tired right now)

    God is that creepy.

Anyway, this is my last week of day-shift, I switch over to nights next week and start school the week after.

Now back to work. Oh joy.

    .:Saturday, March 17:.

    ..:Am dead, fuckin dentist:..

So, the plans for the day? Ran something like this. Wake up at 10, go grab all siblings. Got to the dentist because my dad is a complete tool who booked us in for a dentist appointment on St. Patty's day. Then head downtown, meet up with KT, go to the last half of a con, then go out and party and do a possible pub-crawl.

How it actually happened? Woke up at 6am with my landlord bashing on the door asking me if I can move my car because he chose today to drive the car he's had sitting in his garage all winter and I park my car in front of the garage. Failed to get back to sleep so just went screw it and got up. Grabbed the siblings, went to the Dentist, and spent the next 3 hour there as I apparently have small divots in my teeth left over from the braces that needed to be poked at for an hour before he decided they needed to be filled. Also? popped one of the wires that hold my teeth in place and had to get that reset. And the woman who was cleaning my teeth before the actual dentist came in and looked at me? Made small talk like normal, then at one point she says: "Wow, you keep your teeth in good shape" and promptly jabs me really hard in the gums with a sharp pick. What, am I being punished for brushing my teeth?

Stupid fucking dentist, didn't make it to the con at all. Bah.
